This Cookie Policy explains how UnityPulse uses cookies and similar browser-based storage on this website, on the organisation dashboard at manage.unitypulse.io, and in the TScribe and Ureport web applications. We keep our use of these technologies minimal and purposeful.

1. What are cookies

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember information about your visit, such as your preferred settings. Similar technologies include localStorage, sessionStorage and IndexedDB, which are browser-based storage mechanisms rather than cookies sent over HTTP.

2. Cookies we use

The applications and the dashboard use a small number of strictly necessary cookies and no advertising cookies.

• Session cookie: keeps you signed in during a session. Expires when you sign out or when the session ends on the server. Essential for the service to function.
• CSRF token: a security token that protects form submissions from cross-site request forgery. Strictly necessary.
• Device recognition: a token that lets us recognise an approved device so you are not asked to approve it every time. Strictly necessary for device approval to work.

3. Analytics on this website

This website (unitypulse.io) uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site: pages visited, approximate location, device type and how you arrived. Google Analytics sets cookies (for example _ga) that contain a random identifier to distinguish visits. These are not linked to a UnityPulse account or to any patient data. Google’s use of this data is governed by its own privacy policy. You can opt out with Google’s browser add-on or by blocking the analytics domain; the site works normally without it. The TScribe and Ureport applications do not use Google Analytics.

4. Local storage

The applications use your browser’s localStorage and IndexedDB to keep your theme preference, your templates (unless you turn on cloud sync), and interrupted recordings and drafts, so nothing is lost if a tab closes or the connection drops. This data lives on your device and is not transmitted to our servers except as part of an action you take, such as retrying a transcription. You can clear it at any time by clearing the site’s data in your browser; drafts you have not sent will be lost. The browser extension keeps equivalent data in extension storage, described in the extension privacy notice.

5. Third-party cookies

We do not embed advertising networks, social media pixels or third-party tracking scripts on any UnityPulse page. Beyond Google Analytics on this website, the only third parties that may set cookies are our payment processor during checkout, on its own pages, under its own policy. Fonts on this website are self-hosted, so no font provider sets cookies.

6. Your choices

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking session cookies will prevent sign-in from working. Blocking analytics cookies will not affect the website or the applications. Instructions for managing cookies are in your browser’s help documentation.
